Plan a family campsite around the way you live

Start with beds, everyday routines and shared space. Then choose the tent layout that brings them together.

A family sharing a meal inside a Coody tent

A good family campsite starts with a few ordinary questions. Where will everyone sleep? Where do wet shoes and bags go? Is there room to sit together without moving the beds? Answer those before comparing model numbers.

Draw the space you actually need

List the mattresses or beds you plan to bring and use their actual dimensions. Add a place for bags and furniture, then leave practical routes to the doors. A maximum sleeping-bag capacity describes a different arrangement from a furnished family camp.

For a compact main shelter, look at Coody 8.0 and Coody 10.0. The 8.0 has an integrated fixed floor and two doors; the 10.0 offers a cabin-style setting with multiple door and window openings. Compare their current dimensions and package details on the individual listings.

Decide whether you need separation

A divided interior can help when one person is resting while others organize gear. Familia 13.6 has a removable divider for a two-room arrangement. Familia 17.2 also has a two-room layout, with a removable front Oxford floor and an integrated rear PVC floor.

Those floor and divider details are useful decisions to compare. They tell you more about everyday use than treating a larger number as an automatic upgrade. For the separate PRO versions, explore 10.0 PRO and Familia PRO 17.2.

Give shared time its own place

If your group wants a meeting, dining or gear space, consider the Hub Shelter or the open interior of Aurora Dome. Both have removable Oxford floors in the current core listings. A second shelter also means a larger total footprint and more equipment to transport and pitch.

Check the complete plan

  • Measure beds, furniture and the full campsite footprint.
  • Check access, packing dimensions and what is included.
  • Identify the exact version before choosing any connecting accessories.
  • Use model-specific instructions for setup, anchoring and ventilation.

Our Coody tent guide brings the six core models and connector choices together. If you already have equipment, send the details through Contact Coody so we can help check the combination.
